El Jardin 09.22.12

Robert and I finally won a spot at the community garden nearest to our house. We planted seeds on August 1st and look what we have to show for it!

The squash and the tomato plant were volunteers (ie they were already growing when we took the plot over from the weeds).

Bandera Mtn 2012

I went hiking last weekend with a crew from grad school. We chose Bandera Mtn, a measly 60min drive from the city. About eight miles total and a steep scramble rewarded us with magical views of Mt. Rainier (and other crags and four lakes and leaves just starting to turn).  It was a nice hike, but I am definitely in the market for some trekking poles for the descent, which was long and unrelenting.

Spider Gap 2012

These pictures are from Labor Day weekend this year. I have decided to post them, sans captions, in an effort to share at least pictures if not stories with you all.

Robert and I hiked to and through Spider Gap (the snowy bits in the later pictures), which is in the Glacier Peak Wilderness. The tallest, snowiest mountain in my pictures is...Glacier Peak.

Enjoy and apologies about the lack of captions.
